Roof Coating

Whether it’s a roofing restoration project, routine roof maintenance, an historic roofing project, a school roofing project, a commercial or industrial roof, or a roof for new construction, roof coatings combined with reinforcement fabrics will create a seamless roof coating system that will protect your roof for years to come.

Acrylic Roof Coatings
Acrylic roof coating is very common in the roofing industry in Tucson. Roof coatings are very environmentally friendly saving many of roof from having to be town off every day and filling landfills. Acrylic roof coatings are most often used for reflectivity, and they are designed to cool the roof down and reducing energy costs. Acrylic coatings are also typically known as "elastomeric," allowing for fluctuations in temperature without affecting the actual coating. However, they typically do not have a high tensile strength, and this can affect the coating's ability to resist wear and tear, making the roof restoration or coating more susceptible to damage from ponding water. This is why here at Terra Nova Roofing Solutions all of our coating are reinforced with a Titex T-272 Polyester Membrane to give the coat the tensile strength that it need to out preform and out last any coating by itself.

Silicone Roof Coatings
Silicones are also very well suited for areas with extreme temperature ranges and where UV exposure is more frequent. Silicone coatings provide a very slick surface and, once applied, only another layer of silicone coating can be applied as the recoat. These roof coatings are made to last for a very long time 50 years in fact with little to no maintenance. There are pros and cons with any product one of the cons is silicone coatings has a very low abrasion resistance, so they are not the ideal coating for areas of high traffic. Just contact us for a free roof evaluation and we will help determine what kind of solutions will work best for your roofing needs.

Building codes usually allow you to add a second roof to your building if the first roof is failing. Anything after the second roof, you typically need to choose between a roof tear-off or new installation or a roof coating membrane system. A roof coating membrane system is the superior choice for several reasons over a tear-off or new roof. Roof coating membranes are typically sprayed or rolled. This allows them to create a seamless membrane which is custom tailored to fit your roofs exact needs. If your roof hold water we can redirect the water towards a drain by either building crickets to help push the water to the drains or for areas were this is just not really an option we have a self-leveling product that we use that gives a seam less look what it does is not add pitch but takes out the bowl were the water sits
